This year Hanukkah falls very late on the calendar, starting the evening of December 25th. Because of this late date, we have planned an alternative way for our congregation to celebrate the holiday together. Many of you might remember when we had a program called, Shabbat Babayit (Shabbat in the Home), when people hosted other congregants in their home for Shabbat dinner, in a potluck style. This year, on Saturday, December 28, we will have Hanukkah Babayit! The event will start at 6 pm and include a potluck dairy/veggie dinner at each host family home. The synagogue will provide latkes to the host families to add to the delicious meal. After dinner there will be a short Havdalah ceremony marking the end of Shabbat followed by Hanukkah candle lighting. Please sign up to either be a host or to attend.
